Board Game concept:

Redesign and realization of a prototype for the traditional Quebec board game “St-Jean Lake Piece Game”, within the framework of a design workshop.

The concept developed consists in a board game that can be turned into a dinning table. We introduce this game to the Quebecker’s home, with the purpose of perpetuating the cultural tradition for upcoming generations.
Since this game is only played by adults, the general objective was to find new, practical and innovating ways to present it, with the intention to be appealing for a diversity of age groups.
Intended to stimulate communication, sharing, relaxation and family integration, the game should be located in a site of encounter where social and familiar interactions occur, like in the living room for example.
