Jogging
Jacket concept:
Design of a light emitting
jacket, signaling to street vehicles, the presence
of sportsman/women, within the framework of technical dress design workshop.
The main objective was to apply, the notion of signal emitter and receptor.
The secondary objective was to learn basic notions of cloth tailoring and
prototype making.
We noticed, that most jogging
jackets use bright colors or light reflecting textiles for the ability to
been seen at night. To increase the effect,
users may stick bicycle lights on their apparel.
The design solution we used
was a reflecting nylon jacket to which we integrated a sinuous shaped luminous
band, inspired by a wavy road. Disposed
on all
sides of the jacket, the stripe makes the apparel very noticeable in
the dark.
